At Pompey Creek Ranch you will be transported to and from the field in a custom truck especially equipped for upland game bird hunting and with your comfort in mind. After a short drive to the hunting areas, you will be treated to a 3-hour walking style bird hunt conducted with pointing and flushing dogs which live on the ranch and are trained by our own professional dog trainer. You will be hunting Bobwhite Quail, Pheasant, and Chukar depending upon the package that you choose. The hunts take place on rolling Texas Hill Country topography with beautiful views that enhance your hunting experience. The scattered live oak, mesquite, and cedar make for a beautiful and challenging shooting experience.
There are no bag limits or per bird charges, but plenty of shooting opportunities. This style of hunting allows for challenging shots, comradery between friends, and an exciting action-packed bird hunt.
It is always good to have some time to get dialed in before for the hunt. Therefore, try our exciting 5 Stand that offers shooters of all levels a challenge. A little time spent on the range gets you ready for your day in the field.
All hunts come with a warm-up at our 5 Stand Course (25 clays/person). If you would like to shoot the course more, we also offer that option at $50/shooter/round (25 clays/round).
All hunts are for up to 4 hunters. Not per person.
We can accommodate up to 8 hunters running 2 hunts at a time.
All Upland Bird Hunts require a deposit of $500 at time of booking with the remaining balance due upon arrival at the ranch.
All Game Bird Hunts Include:
NOT Included in the Price of the Hunt:
In the sense of upland game bird hunting tradition and for safety reasons, our required shotgun is an over/under or side by side in a 20 gauge or smaller bore. No large bore or automatic shotguns are allowed. You are welcome to use your own gun if it meets these requirements, or, the price of using our 20 gauge over/under shotguns is built into the package pricing. The shells provided are low brass No. 7 1/2 shot, which are also included in the package pricing. Our preference of smaller shot is for the protection of the dogs while working in such close quarters. 28 gauge and .410 are allowed, as long as there are over/under or side by side. We do not supply the shells for 28 gauge or .410. If you are bringing your own shells it must be low brass 7 1/2 shot or smaller.
Pompey Creek Ranch is an alcohol free environment.
In keeping with our beliefs and convictions we ask that you refrain from the use of alcoholic beverages during your visit.
